Blood clinic changes
August 14, 2023
I went for a blood test last week and walked through the main entrance, I was shocked to see the blood clinic wasn't there anymore. I asked someone who told me where it had now moved to and I tried to make my way there. I have a physical disability so walking all that way was not possible and there was no-one around to help me to get there. I ended up turning round and coming back out as I knew I wouldn't be able to make it there and back.
Can't praise it enough

I can't fault this hospital they are spotless. The food is excellent and it's the cleanest hospital I have ever seen. The staff are always lovely and I don't mind if I need to go back as I know I'll be going back to a good hospital.
very good service

I can't thank the A&E department enough my relative was passed around doctors and hospitals before they came to Chorley and they found he'd had multiple strokes and no-one had picked up on it. The care was brilliant.
Blood clinic has very long wait times

I took my relative to the blood clinic in A&E a couple of weeks ago as they needed repeat bloods and we waiting 4 and a half hours for bloods. I don't think having bloods in an A&E department is good for repeat bloods and we don't understand why were were sent there and not to the blood clinic.

I went into Chorley A&E with a possible miscarriage and the doctor was very unprofessional and did not speak to me in an appropriate manner. I was left in a consultation room for long periods of time and did not feel I was investigated fully. I had to be transferred to Preston to investigate further but this took a while as there were no ambulances available to take me.

They are very person centered. The nursing staff and consultant are lovely and found them very caring and compassionate. Great communication between staff and patient, I also found the department very clean and well presented
autism friendly

I believe this hospital is very autism friendly, they have always been so supportive of me during my appointments.
They don't make me wait long, they have provided support where I've needed it. and i am in and out from my appointments.

Confusion over the blood clinic
June 23, 2023
the other week i went to chorley hospital to have my blood taken, i was given a form by my doctor.
I went in and asked at reception and they said get a ticket and sit down. i did that and after 30 minutes of waiting i was told by the phlebotomist that i couldnt have my blood taken as it wasnt urgent and they are only doing urgent blood tests.
I wouldn't mind but there was no-one else in the blood clinic and i was listening to the two phlebotomists talking for 20 minutes about their weekend.
I don't understand why i had to wait and why they couldn't just do my bloods, they need to open back up to everyone.
