Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I had issues thinking I was having a stroke. I went twice to BVH and was sent back home saying just chest infection, ended up having a stroke at home and was then rushed to the hospital.

On my discharge I got sent home without having my blood count check, I was given no advise about what to do or who to contact in an emergency. I was lucky that my son in law is a nurse and knew that I was not well and got me rushed back to the hospital, he saved my life. I can understand that beds are needed and the hospital need to send patients home, but sometimes you can not rush this as it might cost someone their life.

The hospital saved my life, what more can I say? Thank you

I just feel for the staff as they are over run, they need help, more staff are required and preferably experienced.

The hospital was too noisy at night, staff banging doors as well as the cleaners, I got moved six times in total whilst I was there and no one updated my family.

Staff are very busy and just don't have time for you, may be more staff need to be recruited.

Would only recommend to come if it is serious or try and go somewhere else.

Not happy with my GP as they struggle to get my blood so they send me to BVH. I have diabetes so need regular checks.

Sometimes I feel too cramped in the waiting area, could do with bigger areas.
