having to wait over 30 minutes on the phone

March 15, 2023
Having to wait over 30 mins to get through on the phone to make an appointment. Then only offered a phone call appointment and not face to face. Always just prescribed antibiotics or steriods without been seen.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your experience. We value all feedback as this is used as part of the continuous learning and development of the practice.

I apologise that you had to wait over 30 minutes to speak to someone at the surgery. We have recently changed our telephone system as we were aware of issues that were affecting the system and queue times. The new telephone system allows us to continuously monitor the queues on the telephones and if needed add more users to answer calls / clear the queues.

The practice offers telephone consultation to all patients and if a patient needs / wants to be seen face to face the doctor will invite the patient down to surgery to be seen.

If you have any concerns regarding the Practice and your medical care please feel free to email the surgery parbold.surgery1@nhs.net and mark it for the attention of the Practice Manager

staffing

I can never get an appointment and when i do its over the phone, i ask for face to face but they say they are not doing them at the moment.
The receptionists make me say whats wrong when sometimes i dont want to disclose what the problem is.
Also i am under the hospital and the doctors dont know what medication i am on, how does that work? my doctor should know what i am on so they can help me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback - we appreciate all feedback as this helps with our continuous learning and development as a practice.

The practice offers a telephone consultation first and all patients who need/want to be seen are invited down to the surgery on the same day (usually the same session).

The reception team do ask for a brief reason for all appointments as this help the clinicians during the consultation as they can look at any relevant investigations, letters prior to the call. All staff are trained in confidentiality, data protection and GDPR so any information disclosed is safe. It is a patients choice if they do not wish to disclose a reason and can inform the receptions they do not wish to say or that the matter is personal.

When a patient is seen in hospital it may take a few days/weeks for an update letter to be received by the GP from your consultant. Once received all information relating to your medial care is updated.

bad experience

I have been going for years and they dont listen. They hand out antibiotics all the time and dont investigate what is wrong.
I have asked to be investigated many times now and they still give me antibiotics. It has taken me nearly a year for the doctor to send me to the hospital for an investigation.
I can never get a face to face appointment and i feel i get more from the pharmacy than i do from the doctors.
