The only issue for me was the parking, other than that everything was good.
Bowel cancer op cancelled twice.
December 4, 2015
The urgent bowel cancer operation of a disabled 61 year old relative has twice been cancelled on the day of the operation. He has been starved from midnight until early afternoon before being sent home. He still does not know when or indeed if the operation will take place. It feels like they're waiting for him to die so they can cut the waiting list down, The consultant is angry and frustrated by delays but administrators do not care or have any compassion. He is a number and obviously to them unimportant. The same thing can happen again next time he is scheduled for surgery. This is an appalling system.

I had a review appointment with my consultant Mr. Edwards at 10am following a minor operation on 11.11.15 and subsequent pain following my operation. I was kept waiting for almost 2 hours (in pain) before I was seen. I was also not seen by Mr Edwards as there had been some mix up. The doctor who I was seen by did not introduce himself nor did the 2 members of staff who were in the treatment room with me. I was sent for an x-ray and on my return was told that I did not have an infection. What I had was "dry socket". the area was cleaned and some antiseptic paste was applied. However, it was not explained to me what it was. It provided temporary relief for a few hours and then the pain returned. I wasn't told how long the "dry socket " was expected to last. I am very disappointed with the department and have been in excruciating pain on and off for over a week. Such side effects ought to have been explained. I am also disappointed that staff failed to introduce themselves
Ward 3

This was an emergency appointment. I had oral surgery on 11.11.15 and a few days later I was in a lot of pain. I phoned the hospital (information was provided following my op) and the doctor on call returned my call after about one and half hours. I was asked to come to ward 3. When I arrived I was told the doctor was in surgery and I would have to wait for over 1 hour . If this had been explained to me when I spoke to the on-call doctor in the morning, I would have come to hospital later on. When I eventually saw the doctor, he wasn't sure if I had an infection but prescribed me antibiotics and stronger painkillers. The doctor did request a review for me to be seen at the end of the week. Once I arrived home I received a telephone call to ask if I could return to the Hospital on Thursday for a review with my consultant which I thought was excellent.

Staff were okay. I had a minor operation on my wisdom tooth. There were 3 people in the room who were treating me and although I was asked whether or not I had breakfast and why I was there, I was very surprised that none of the staff introduced themselves to me. Staff should introduce themselves. The information provided afterwards was acceptable but could be improved to show any complications that may arise after surgery

Rather slower than usual. My appointment was at 10.30am but I wasn't seen until 11.45am. The consultant wanted me to come within a month but it took 6 weeks.

The department is a bit small. Over 2 hours wait from my appointment time. I would rate this as minus 1. Clinic was good. Staff were nice and apologetic. All the doctors were brilliant. However, there were not enough seats for the number of people that were there. There was a lot of people stood up. Improvements - reduce waiting time and increase seating. A young man was waiting two and a half hours.

9.30 appointment - I was seen at 11am. I didn't receive drops until almost 11am. There seems to be more staff and less patients so I can't understand the delay. I have also been here for 7.30am and not been seen until 11am. Reduce waiting time.

It was difficult to get an appointment. There are no appointments for 4 months. Very overstretched. I think there's not enough consultants in the eye department. I was waiting for 2 hours from field test to being seen. Improvements can be made by reducing the waiting times for appointments with consultants.

Appointment was at 9.45. We waited until approximately 10.35 to be seen. The consultant Dr. Annum was very friendly and personable. I felt he wasn't rushing. The waiting area was very crowded and it is not very big. Some people had to stand up as there were not enough chairs. It was very busy with patients.
