Paramedics
A 19-year-old Male shared their experience from Royal Preston Hospital/ Lancashire Ambulance Service: The young person was suffering from a severe throat infection which was restricting his breathing and he was coughing up blood. His girlfriend called for an ambulance and the paramedics arrived. After the paramedics checked him the young person felt that the paramedics were rude to him and did not take his symptoms seriously. He was very distressed by this situation. The paramedics repeatedly asked him to breathe when he had explained that he could not breath. He was vomiting blood and at no point was he offered a sick bowl. Rather than talking to him the paramedics were talking to each other about what they were going to have for breakfast. The paramedics did not support the young person down the stairs from a first floor flat despite telling them he was feeling very dizzy. The young person did state that the nurse was very good and the doctor was excellent at the hospital who treated him.
