Our visit to Pennine View Care Home

Healthwatch Lancashire did an Enter and View visit at Pennine View Care Home in Accrington. The Enter and View visit prompted a recommendation of new dementia clocks for the residents within the home.

From this Enter and View visit, the manager was very enthusiastic about becoming a Community Champion for Healthwatch Lancashire. This has been a great opportunity for close partnership working, sharing updates with one another and aiding us to collect the views of those that are seldom heard.

Healthwatch Lancashire received very complimentary feedback following the Enter and View visit and this is shown in the comment below:

As an independent voice, our Enter and View visits help inform services of good practice and areas for improvement. This helps services to feel confident that they are delivering a high quality service and feel prepared for CQC inspections.

We have since received feedback from the manager that they will share the work of Healthwatch Lancashire, including Enter and View visits, with other care home managers in the local area. They have also offered their support in our Enter and View programme, should our staff or volunteers wish to use the home to trial a visit.

We would like to thank the manager and team at Pennine view for being so welcoming and enthusiastic about our visit. The care home happily opened their doors and allowed Healthwatch representatives to speak to staff, residents and relatives freely.

Healthwatch Lancashire look forward to our continued partnership with Pennine View. This partnership will include supporting the community, sharing good practice and continued communication through care homes within Lancashire.
