i attended the hopsital last year and had a very bad experience. I was in ward 18 and when the medication round started the lady was very rude and left her keys to the cabinet on my desk. She then walked out of the room with the medication cabinet open and didn't look for her keys. She only came back for her keys later that day. It is very concerning that the ward was open for anyone to gian access to the medication cabinet.

I did not have a good experience. I had an operation and was awaiting release.
Staff can be disruptive and one woman in particular woke everyone up early because she wanted to clean early. She made me feel very uncomfortable and made me sit in a chair whilst she cleaned my bed. I asked if i could get back in my bed as i was in a lot of pain and she told me i couldnt as i was going home and she didnt want me messing up the new bed

relative bad experience
January 24, 2023
My relative was admitted to ward 23 in preston and it was awful. The staff need to listen to the patients more and actually read their files before they come to the bedside. We had to write on the white board above her bed as noone had done it, we tried to help the nurses. she signed a DNR but i dont think she should have done as she dont remember it at all.
She was transferred to critical care and they were incredible, and also ward 17 were amazing

wait times
January 20, 2023
My relative had been into preston hospital to have a stoma bag fitted and was put in the discharge lounge for 5 hours waiting for medication and a discharge later. There were many people in the discharge area and it was very full with patients having to stand as there was not enough room for them to sit down. The staff were apologetic and assured the patients that they wouldnt have to wait much longer but there were patients in there that clearly needed support and were being made to wait for hours on end.
On the ward she was on she was left with a stoma bag all wired up, she needed the toilet but no-one would help her, she wet the bed twice as she wasn't being given the support she needed. The nurses were all very young and there were a lot of students working whilst my relative was there. I think its the system that isn't working not the poor doctors and nurses who did give the best care they could.

My friend recently spent 6 days at the hospital. The care and attention from the staff on ward 2c was exceptional. She was made to feel vey comfortable and Kat was a particularly helpful lady. Even the food got a gold star! Thank you very much for all your hard work - it is appreciated!
Inconsistencies
September 6, 2016
One group member commented about an experience of their family member who
had been treated at Royal Preston Hospital to correct scar tissue. There were
inconsistencies in their treatment, which resulted in the scarring worsening. They
said the inconsistencies were with the dressing clinic and with different people
treating them, which meant that the wound kept opening up.
