Parking and long corridors mean the hospital is too big. I am in a wheelchair and my husband has to wheel me. X-ray would be better closer to the entrance. It's quite far from the entrance. Occupational Therapy is spotless.

Appointment was at 10:10, was called in at 11am. Notes had not been transferred from Burnley Hospital as I was there yesterday for a cataract appointment. Waiting times to be improved.

Don't like the entrance. People should stop smoking there. A lot of patients walking to main entrance in pyjamas. People shouldn't be allowed to smoke around the main entrance.
Please tidy the main entrance area and reduce initial waiting period in fracture clinic.

Attended without appointment on the 14/09/15 but fracture clinic didn't have the notes as nurse during discharge did not pass the information on. The appointment was unscheduled so I can understand. Children's ward clinic was fantastic.

External areas outside hospital are shocking. Lots of stub ends, it was disgusting!

Bad communication

I used patient transport to get to my appointment at Royal Blackburn Hospital because I was told I was going to need injections in my eyes and therefore would not be able to use public transport. I have no family or friends to rely on for a lift.
After a few hours of being in the hospital, I had seen the doctor and then asked to wait again. A member of staff then told me I had been discharged and my patient transport had been arranged. This confused me as I was under the impression that I was going to have injections in my eyes but the nurse insisted the doctor has discharged me.
I waited for the patient transport to arrive with three other people who were from Leyland. After about a hour, we asked a member of staff where the transport was and the member of staff told us unfortunately there has been some confusion and our transport had not been booked. We were then told that a driver was available to take the three people home who were from Chorley, but not myself as I was from Leyland. Even though we had all traveled in the same transport to the hospital.
The patient transport came to pick up the three people, as I continued to wait. The clinic had closed and everyone had gone home by the time my transport arrived. My appointment had finished at 4pm and this was around 6:30. I thought I may be there all night on my own and there was nobody to ask.
