Southport & Formby District General Hospital

I was an inpatient on Ward 14B at Southport Hospital in early September 2015. I was admitted for a fortnight. Staff were uncaring at Southport hospital and didn't listen. Food at Southport hospital is atrocious.

Waited 4 hours / quite serious why we were attending. He was rated as high priority but he was sat in a wheelchair for 4 hours. Triage was prompt. Waiting room was filthy, drinks machine over spilt, smelt, floors were filthy. My son is a welder and he had no sight and was in a lot of pain. Staff were very apologetic. Not enough doctors. I wouldn't take my son back to Southport A & E, I would use Wigan.

Saved my life, can not say enough of the hospital.

My father was treated at the hospital and treatment and care provided was unacceptable. The staff were very poor, not helpful and showed no compassion. Due to his mobility we requested a hoist and this was never provided, constant excuses were made. Due to a delay in appointments my father had to suffer for a year before he was given his diagnosis that he had cancer.
The care was degrading and unfortunately my father is not with us anymore.
