Excellent care provided. Volunteers great help. Hospital a bit run down, needs attention. Car Park - amazed to find a space.

Communication very poor. Access to Doctor / Consultant poor. Waiting for ambulance 1 to 2 hours for heart attack although didn't show obvious symptoms.

Came to visit family friend who is being looked after very well in RLI. Staff need to be praised.
Diabetic illness

I have recently been diagnosed as a diabetic. I was rushed to the hospital and kept in for 5 days, the treatment I received was awful, the consultant prescribed me my medicine which I had to have, he set the drip up and asked the staff to put my medicine in. The staff forgot about this and this could have killed me had it not been put to staff attention by my family.
The hospital needs more staff and awareness raised for illnesses and what can happen if urgent action is not take.
The only place where I was cared for properly was in the coronary care department.

Outpatient appointment

The appointment was straight forward, I did not have to wait long and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The staff at the main reception were very friendly and showed me exactly where to go as I was visiting a family friend.
The ward itself was very good, staff were very polite.
The only issue I have is that there is no zebra crossing from the car park and with cars coming both ways, sometimes it is hard to cross especially if you are with children.

Cardiology appointment

I feel that when you turn up to your appointment you should be able to report to the reception rather than logging in via the machine. If you are not an expert in IT then you might struggle like me as I am 85.
When I came in for my appointment there was nobody to help me.
The service itself was good and I can not fault anything.
