Extremely satisfied with my treatment
March 17, 2025
I had to attend for an oral biopsy today at the Maxillofacial Dept, my second visit in as many weeks. From the very start, Dr Frankie Hall and her amazing highly professional and friendly team made me feel relaxed, and several hours later, the pain is almost non-existent. Thanks to all who made this such a great experience.
6 year old Daughter went for blood tests
February 17, 2025
Dr's had given me the wrong contact details to book my daughters bloods, so when we arrived it was booked as adult appointment not paediatric. A lovely nurse (Pauline) came and explained they were quiet so could do it but normally wouldn't be able to do, she went above and beyond and was really lovely with my daughter, making it a happy experience. So thank you Pauline (childrens outpatients) you are amazing
Pain wasn’t taken seriously
February 13, 2025
The doctors asked me few questions. Assumed my level of pain. Acted like the level of pain I was going through was normal. A later check up found it wasn’t. If I hadn’t taken initiative, gone against their advice and gotten more help I may have been injured further.
Maternity treatment
June 5, 2024
around 12 months ago my relative was in the maternity unit at Ormskirk hospital. she was treated terribly and wasn't listened to by the staff on the ward. she was in active labour and they kept telling her she was fine, they refused to check her and eventually she was screaming in agony, i got the nurse and she was rushed into an emergency c-section as the baby had turned and no one had noticed or checked. when she did give birth the hospital didnt know how to support her with breastfeeding and couldn't give her any support or signpost where to go. This has massively affected her and she's now gone onto birth control so she doesn't have to go through that ever again. things might have changed in the last 12 months and i hope they have but they need to look at how they treat women and also make sure they are trained to support with signposting and breastfeeding support.
appointment management
June 5, 2024
i was referred to ormskirk hospital to have pain management for my knee but they only see you for one problem at a time. as part of my condition i have the same problem in two different body parts but i have to come back for the other one. I feel the exercises they do with me don't always help and i feel it would be easier to see the same person for both problems and would save appointments.
Happier with this hospital
April 8, 2024
weve been going to Southport hospital for pain management and i do prefer ormskirk, its easier to park, the hospital is nicer, the staff are nicer. In Southport you have to park miles away and walk where here isn't too far to get to. We used the pain clinic today and we were in and out, on time and no problems at all.
seating around the hospital would be helpful
April 8, 2024
i have to rely on transport to hospital this is sometimes an ambulance and sometimes a car. When its a car they cant fit my walking aid in so when i get here i have to walk from one side of the building to the other with a walking stick and it does take me a long time. I think some seating in the corridors would be great so we can rest on our way round, its a long way to walk all in one.
communication with patients

i use the diabetic clinic a lot and they are very good. they are always on time and the staff are lovely. The car park wasn't too bad today either but im presuming that's because its half term.
struggle with getting around the hospital
April 8, 2024
i have parked in car park A but my appointment is at the other end of the hospital, you cant park on the other one its always full. I use a walking stick and have to lean on the walls on my walk to the appointment. I think it would benefit from some seating scattered around the corridors so that patients can have a rest whilst getting to their appointment.
Parking isnt great and is confusing
April 8, 2024
parking at this hospital is confusing, as you come in to the car park on the left there are very faded disabled parking bays but no sign, so i don't know if you can park there or not and cars park there that aren't in the bays, i think there's a lot of confusion there around where the disabled bays are and where others can park.
