Best care I've had
November 20, 2023
I went to Euxton Hall hospital for an appointment and turned up early as I had to get a taxi, they were great with me and let me go in. My appointment was on time and the staff were lovely and caring. When my appointment was over they booked in my follow up appointments. I was very impressed by the care I received. After using other hospitals that has to be the best.
Negligent on the part of the MRI service
October 10, 2017
I was sent for an MRI here by my gp after being in extreme pain and hardly able to walk. I saw orthopaedics first who said he had to send me for an MRI because that was requested but he was sure they’d find nothing! First off the appointment was cancelled so I had another week of pain, then when I did get there I could no longer use my leg, I pointed this out and was told they can’t advise which I understand but they also said they can’t even read the scan picture so I was sent home! I went to urgent care off my own back and was then told because the scan was done under a private company even though I’m an nhs patient the neurosurgeon couldn’t access my scan, it took at least 36 hours to just get a report not picture upon which I was then rushed to hospital for spinal surgery!! To top it off on the Monday after the MRI on Thursday I was called by virgin care asking had anyone contacted me over the weekend as if not I need to go to hospital immediately! Why was it acceptable to leave someone in that state and possible cauda equina for another 3 days after the scan!
Even the neurosurgeon said it was negligent, they can read a picture enough to tell if it’s urgent/serious and I should have been sent to Preston Hospital straight away not sent home!

I had an operation in early November and it didn't work and I have been in extreme pain since. I telephoned on several occasions to request an earlier follow-up appointment (than my scheduled one for Feb 2016) but was briskly told no chance. My appointment was changed to today (19.1.16) but that was through the hospital and not my doing. This is nonetheless a pleasant place to come. Mr Austin said I would need to have another operation and he will try and fit me in as soon as possible.

Very quick to get an appointment. I didn't expect it. Fabulous service. I waited just 3-4 weeks. (My wife was in this hospital for an operation 10 years ago and it was excellent).

My appointment was cancelled 2 times previously. I was referred by my GP in Aug 2015.

Happier with this hospital than Chorley or Royal Preston Hospital
