Privacy and dignity

i received a text to say i needed to go into the gp for a blood test. when i turned up the receptionist shouted out loud you need to go to hospital for a blood test. obviously i was worried as i had no idea why they were testing me, the whole waiting room just looked at me and i found my privacy had just gone. i feel this is a conversation that should have happened in private and an explanation would have been nice. i told them i don't drive and they didnt seem to care i was just given a form and told to go to hospital now.

Cleanliness and hygiene

i was asked by my gp to pick up a blood pressure machine from them to monitor my blood pressure over several days. i went to pick up the blood pressure machine and i told them can i have a small as i am only small myself. when i got home the box it was in was all battered and broken, there were used tissues in the box, the blood pressure machine was an extra large and the thing that goes round your arm was disgusting and full of hairs. i immediately took it back and they said they would sort it and ring me but no one ever did.

Continuing care

i went into hospital a few months ago and the consultant told me to ring my doctors the day after and have a check in with the doctor to see if i needed to stay on medication or to change it. i rang in the morning i explained that i needed to see a doctor today and they said they couldn't facilitate me and i would need to ring back again tomorrow. they didnt even offer me a prebookable the day after.

i don't feel listened to by my doctors at all. i ring for an appointment and they are very quick to pass me off to a nurse or the pharmacy but never let me see a doctor. i went to the pharmacy last time they told me and the pharmacy said no you need a doctor. i rang and they said we cant give you a doctor well give you the nurse but then the nurse couldn't help me either. there was no explanation as to why we are seeing these people. an explanation would be nice.

Prescription errors

I've made a complaint in the past to this gp. they keep messing up my prescription and then they say its the pharmacy that's at fault when they are the ones either not sending over the prescription or getting the doses wrong. i got a phone call from my doctors last week to say my prescription had been sent over to the pharmacy and i could pick it up today, i went to the pharmacy and they hadnt even sent it.

they made everything online without consulting patients. we ring as we are unable to access the internet and they are always pushing us to book online via the app. i am elderly and we should just be able to ring the surgery and be able to book an appointment. the surgery has not educated patients on the new triage system, they've just expected us to get on with it with no real help or support. i don't even know what total triage means so how would i know how to use it.

staffing concerns

one receptionist at this surgery has no empathy what so ever. i feel we are inconveniencing them whenever we go in or ring. The doctor on the other hand i cant complain he has been amazing with my relative and i cant fault him at all. There are some younger receptionists that are lovely as well.

Online triage concerns

my surgery has gone to total triage which is great if you are good with technology which i am not. you now need to order prescriptions via the app which again isn't good for patients who don't have access. i feel if you are not good with technology you are just left with no support or help.

I do like my surgery but if you ring in the morning you are about 51 in the queue it's just crazy, I have taught myself to use the online app and book appointments through there now. The only thing is if you go on a minute after 8am all the appointments have gone.

Staff are brilliant phone lines not so much

I have been with this surgery for a while now and trying to get an appointment is a nightmare. When you actually see the doctors they are amazing I cant fault them at all. I rang the other day and I was 56th in the queue I felt like giving up, why would I want to sit on the phone for hours waiting.
