Clayton Brook Surgery

I was waiting for a phone call appointment from the practice in order to discuss some test results. The Dr Ward was really kind and considerate. He made sure to explain my condition really clearly and has talked me through the follow up process from this appointment.

i was at a surgery in chorley and moved to clayton brook, what a difference that made. i have nothing but praise for this surgery, Dr Siddiqui is incredible. He is very supportive and really takes the time to speak with you and listen to what is wrong. Within weeks of joining the surgery i was put on a course of medication and i feel so much better.

I contacted the surgery with an enquiry about a concern that I had. They informed me that they were able to conduct a test to see if I needed to be seen by a clinician. I was asked to provide the necessary information and they arranged it so the test could be done at my convenience. I had the results within 24 hours of the test being done. Crisis averted, very efficient.

Query around medication that the doctors had put me on. The doctors had given me double prescription without checking with me first and the pharmacy didn't enquire with the doctor to ensure that this was not a fault. I tried calling the doctor but they wouldn't answer and I couldn't find out why this had been changed.

I have been attending this surgery for over 40 years, They have changed a lot over the years which is very good, those changes needed to be made. I never have a problem making an appointment and the staff are lovely.

I had a blood test at the surgery and it took me a while to book the appointment with them as they only have a nurse in for blood tests once a week. It then took a very long time to get the results from the test. They also sent me to the local pharmacy to have my blood pressure checked which was a massive inconvenience as they used to do it at the surgery.

I have had a very good experience at this surgery, the staff are all lovely to me.
The staff know me by name and i feel they really know my condition and what i need to make me better.
I feel they cater for my needs and i feel welcomed into the surgery.
The nurses are so lovely and caring.
There are some doctors that are good, but its pot luck who you get on the day but all the doctors seem to know me very well so its not a problem for me.
When i ring i get straight through and get an appointment.

before the new phone lines were brought in i would have to ring over 100 times to get through to the reception.
The new phone line is not helpful at all, when you call you get put through to an automated message but at the end of the message if there is no-one to answer your call they put the phone down. So you have to sit for around 1-2 minutes listening to an automated message to then possibly have the phone put down on you.
Then you have to call back and hear the automated message again and wait to see if anyone picks up, i feel the phone lines need to be changed.

Very easy to get a quick appointment for a less serious problem but takes 3 working days to get a set of bloods checked for infection. I would recommend this surgery if you only get minor problems but not if you need long term care
