Same Day Health Centre - Fleetwood

Shameful

I attended the walk in centre because of a worsening UTI where my current antibiotics don’t seem to be working. I had been seen by a PA at my GP surgery who closed for training day and was advised to attend out of hours if my condition worsened. As I am over 65 I can’t be seen by pharmacist and I have a very long history of UTIs. So when I attended the WIC at 6.30 pm worried I may be de eloping sepsis as I was feeling very ill I did not appreciate the first question being why did I not go to my GP when i was asking for help, I also do not want to hear the nurse complaining about not being able to log into the system to see my test results as though it was my fault. Basic equipment like a bp cuff had to be sourced from another room as my arm was too big After waiting for 2 hours to be seen and after she logged into the system I informed her that I had a very long history of UTIs and the last urine sample showed klebsiella P and I’m now resistant to multiple abx we discussed augmentin as it showed sensitivity to it and cephalexin is not working, she said if she couldn’t log onto the system I would have to see my GP which was mentioned on numerous occasions in the morning at 8, she gave me co amoxiclav which I’ve had before and did not work on collection of px therefore the appointment appears a waste of time. My advice is to not immediately attack sick patients by interrogating them as to why they did not go to their GP when it was out of hours and it is notoriously difficult anyway. I used to have the upmost confidence in Fleetwood WIC however I will no longer attend there as I was made to feel like useless nuisance. Thank you for making an already unpleasant experience worse and shame on those who think that that kind of service can call itself a caring profession
