Ward 28 Dementia
Some of the staff were good, others did not speak English. My mum found it difficult to communicate. The food seemed fine but no-one helped her to eat it, so she did not eat. At the weekend the nurse was not working, but she gave strict instructions to the other staff for pain relief. She was unable to swallow, was partially unclothed and kicking her legs in pain, whilst the nurse was on the phone. The nurses could not find a Doctor to give the pain relief. There was no dignity for my mum, and she did not deserve it. Also she did not want to know anything about her cancer, but the weekend consultant was unaware of this, and he told her that it had spread.
