Royal Preston Hospital



Very long wait

I went to the hospital accident and emergency.The staff on the reception desk were very polite and helpful. Their levity was appreciated as they were able to reassure me and gave clear information about how long the expected wait would be. I was seen quite quickly got triage who advised me that I needed to go to urgent care, they told me I was on the injury list. There was a long wait and they did not provide updates about how long we were going to be throughout the evening. As the night progressed Staff were observed being rude with other patients who had missed a shout from a member of staff who had called them for an x ray. They had not left the room at all. There was no call for them to be spoken to the way they were. I saw one member of staff handle a very tricky person well and told them clearly what was happening. The staff who saw me were caring, attentive and made sure I got what I needed.
