communication with patients
i received a phone call from the hospital to say they had boked an appointment for my child with the pediatrician. i turned up and they told me nothing had been booked, i got sent round half the hospital before i ended up back at the main pediatrician reception to be told there was nothing they could do as i didnt have an appointment. i took my child out of school and i had to take time off work. i don't think staff realize what goes into coming to an appointment. When i got home i rang the number on my referral letter and they said because i had missed my appointment they couldn't reschedule. i told them i had turned up but they said there was no record of this and i would need to go back to my doctors for a referral. it already took 6 months to get this appointment, how can this happen.
