care and consideration for patients

May 7, 2024
i have been with this surgery for some time and i have a long term condition and i don't feel they give me the support and help i need. I can never get an appointment and i feel like leaving them as they just don't look after their patients.

communication is not very good

April 8, 2024
my surgery has now gone total triage but no communication with patients about what this means. my 83 years old relative rung for an appointment and they said he needs to book it online. He said he doesn't have access to online and the lady said ill do it for you. He was very confused as to why he couldn't just book an appointment there and then as he was on the phone for over 5 minutes talking about what was wrong just for the lady to say someone will ring you back with an appointment. It just seems like its taking more time for the receptionist filling in a triage slip when they could just book an appointment in.

Dear Patient,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been dissatisfied with Parkgate Surgery. You’re correct that we now operate under a total triage system, and I apologise that this change wasn’t communicated to your relative before it took effect. We did try to inform patients through various channels, including notice boards around the surgery, our pre-recorded phone system, notifications from staff during calls/face to face, leaflets, Patient participation group, as well as updates on our website and social media. However, I apologise that your relative did not receive this information.

I would be happy to discuss this further and assist your relative in becoming more comfortable with the triage system. Alternatively, our reception team can submit triage requests on behalf of patients and explain the process as they do so. If you’d like to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to email me at danielle.liptrot1@nhs.net.

Kind regards,
Danielle

not good service

April 14, 2023
had a lack of input, tried to get a family member diagnosed with dementia and the doctor wouldn't even see her. They made me tell them what was wrong over a telephone appointment and when asked for an appointment the doctor said it wasn't needed.
They then didn't contact me after the telephone appointment and then took 6 months to see a consultant. I have never seen the GP and they have never contacted me regarding my family member.
