CC - poor experience
December 10, 2015
We spoke to the daughter of someone in this home who has dementia. She raised a number of concerns about cleanliness stating that she has had to clean food and excrement on occasion when she has visited. She claims that the food is not appropriate for people with dementia in her opinion. She said that she has found it difficult to speak to the manager. Her mum has been in the home for two years and initially it was very good but more recently the care hasn’t been to the same standard – she accounts some of this to staff always changing.
She also said that her mum is supposed to have reviews every six months but there hasn’t been one for 10 months. She shared a story about a hospital appointment that was cancelled because a member of staff said there “was no point” because she has dementia – no records were kept that this happened.
