Carer support
November 8, 2023
Support for carers is limited. I've had to look up support myself. It's very difficult my relative is deaf and I help as much as possible but I also need to work. When I hurt myself I was unable to take them to the doctors for regular check ups. The doctor was awful with me and refused to help me or my relative and wouldn't send help to the house.
hard to get an appointment

It is very hard to get an appointment at the surgery, you can be on hold for ages and then not get an appointment.
I don't know if they have any online options as they don't advertise that and they don't tell us if they do have online options.
They are good with the kids but its hard for adults.

The parking is horrendous. In 6-7 years I have lost 11 teeth. Had a bridge put in after a violent incident with husband. After the bridge was fitted I was later told that it was the wrong type of bridge, as such have had dentures fitted but has felt that they don't fit and has had problems ever since. I've never been offered a second fit which I believe I should. Suffer from depression and anxiety and is now scared to go to the dentist. Feels the dentures are ill-fitting. Dentist does not listen and does not seen to have empathy.

In terms of appointments, it depends which receptionist you get through to. Information received can be varied. My own Doctor is great and he prints out information but other staff don't explain the medication. The trainee doctors get things sorted for you straight away and are very thorough.
