Not very good with elderly patients

My relative who is in her 80s rang the doctors last week for an appointment and she was on hold over 30 minutes. When she did get through they said there are no appointments and she needs to ring the next day. She rang again and the receptionist said if its that urgent just go into Blackpool walk in centre, she explained she is in her 80s with no access to transport and struggles with public transport and they just didnt seem bothered. I had to call on her behalf and i managed to get an appointment for 12 days later.

I am very happy with this service, before covid it was quite poor but i feel they have learnt from their mistakes and it has come out better. They have opened workers appointments in the evening which really helps me working full time. i cant fault them at all.

hard to get appointments

It is extrmely hard to egt appointments here, i rang the other day and i was 94 in the queue, how is this possible?
How do they expect people to get an appointment with that many people in the practice? they are either over prescribed or they need more staff to fulfil the roles within the surgery.

We apologise for the delay in responding but thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your difficulties in making an appointment with the Practice. At peak times it is extremely busy. The maximum the phone system can hold in a queue is 20, however if you are able to stay on the line calls are answered as soon as possible.
