conflicting key information
September 12, 2024
This is a formal complaint about the confusion over my forthcoming eye procedure. It indicates just how CHEC displays a lack of concern for the feelings of their patients and so, their health.
I describe the issue below.
On 6/9/24 I attended a clinic at your Blackpool Centre. At the end of that visit I WAS CLEARLY TOLD THAT I WOULD BE HAVING A LASER PROCEDURE ON 14/9/24 AT 10 am YES !! 10 AM
I confirmed this date and time at your desk on the way out, and WROTE IT ON MY APPOINTMENT LETTER ALONG WITH NOTES FROM THE SESSION WITH YOUR CONSULTANT.
TODAY, RECEIVED A "COURTESY CALL FROM YOU ASKING ME TO CONFIRM MY ATTENDANCE AT YOUR CLINIC ON 14/09/24 AT 12.30 PM Yes, 12.30 PM A DIFFERENT TIME THAN THE ONE ABOVE THAT I WAS GIVEN. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, PART OF YOUR RECORDED MESSAGE REMINDED ME NOT TO TURN UP TOO EARLY FOR THE PROCEDURE ON 14/9/24 !!
So immediately after this call, I rang your CHEC BLACKPOOL OFFICE WHERE I SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO DESCRIBED HERSELF AS A "PATIENT CO-ORDINATOR"
I was told that your system was showing 12.30 pm, but the appointment was at 10 am. Rather insultingly, I was also told several times that I should not be concerned, because "it was the way the system worked".
Do you :-
a) consider that this experience could be concerning, confusing, and making me have less trust in your clinic?
b) consider that this is acceptable?
c) consider that this experience is such that me making a complaint formally but not in any abusive way is also acceptable?
d) regard your system as acceptable like how [patient coordinator - name redacted for privacy] tried to convince me?
I have complained about CHEC before, BUT I AM NOT A SERIAL COMPLAINANT.
Please investigate this as promptly and fairly as you can
