Easy Experience

January 17, 2025
I arrived around 15 minutes earlier than my appointment and checked in on the device provided, I then waited to be called through to see the doctor who was informative, and really nice! She offered excellent advice and helped me devise a tailored skin routine to tackle my ongoing skin issue. I didnt communicate with the receptionists at all but they seemed busy and were doing their best to help individuals over the phone, I noticed a little casual back and forth between a patient who needed a translator and the receptionist where both parties didn't seem to be communicating well so I think they could attempt to use devices to help patients who need a little more elamguage support to understand their needs.

Thank you for your 5 star feedback, we are glad you had a positive experience with the GP at the practice. With regards to translators, we do have a language translation service in operation for the clinicians to use within the privacy of their rooms, and offer double appointments for those patients who need them. We can also use Google translate on reception if required, I will reiterate to the reception team that if they are struggling they should use the Google service.

changes at the practice

May 16, 2024
our main doctor retired which is such a shame because i feel it has now gone down hill. you cant get an appointment the same day, you have to wait 3-4 weeks. They've stopped blood tests which isn't helping either as you've got to travel. the bedside manner of one of the doctors is awful, they have no time for you and are never happy. i feel they just want me in and out and that's it.

Thank you for your feedback. The majority of our appointments are on the same day and these are a mixture of morning and afternoon so we can suit the needs of our patients. We also offer a variety of appointments such as telephone and face to face with either a GP, Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Our routine pre-bookable appointments currently only have a one week wait.

We have have never offered a phlebotomy service at Briarwood as the practice has never been funded to provide phlebotomy. The Practice Nurse will take urgent bloods only if requested by the GP.

I would be happy to discuss your concerns further if you wish to contact me at the practice. Alison Armer

it is very hard to get an appointment at the surgery, you ring at the time we are told to ring but then you can never be seen and you find yourself ringing multiple times during the week.
The doctors and nurses are lovely once you've got an appointment but its so difficult to get one in the first place.

I am sorry to hear you have found it difficult to get an appointment. We do offer urgent on the day face to face and telephone appointments, along with routine pre-bookable telephone and face to face appointments. We endeavour to accommodate all patients on a day to day basis but unfortunately on some days the demand can be extremely high. We can also offer alternatives such as Clinical Pharmacist or Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments as well as referrals to the Pharmacy but appreciate that these may not be suitable for the issue you are calling about. If you do require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me at the practice. Alison
