Asiya Shah – Preston, Chorley & South Ribble MNVP Lead

” Hi, I’m Asiya, Lead for Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership in the Preston, Chorley, and South Ribble region. Previously, I actively engaged with the Maternity Voices Partnership as a service user representative, sharing my personal experiences through four pregnancies and births—three at Royal Preston and one at home with support from the Ivy team.

I’m a passionate advocate for informed decision and informed choice. I have a professional background of many things including running my own business and being a school governor, most recently volunteering for Families and Babies as a breastfeeding supporter and training as a perinatal doula.

I’m excited to have the opportunity of meeting local families and understanding their unique maternity journeys. Advocating for these families and providing a platform for them to express their experiences is crucial. This initiative aims to bring about positive changes and advancements in our future maternity services. Our focus is on ensuring that the voices of women and their families, particularly those from underrepresented and minority backgrounds, are genuinely heard.”
