The Healthwatch Lancashire team are constantly on the move engaging with local communities to gather feedback on health and social care across Lancashire whilst offering advice and guidance.

Each month 2 of our enthusiastic engagement officers will be sharing their experiences attending an event or group across Lancashire and detailing how their attendance made an impact.

Take a look below to view our recent engagement events. We are incredibly thankful to the organisations who allow us to attend their events or groups.

If you have any questions or know of an event you think we should attend, get in touch on 01524 239100 or info@healthwatchlancashire.co.uk. We’d love to talk to visit you.

October 2024

In today’s ‘Our Impact’ report, Steve visited Accrington Blind Society and talked to 13 people about their experiences living with a disability in Lancashire.

Steve had conversations with people about using pharmacies, digital exclusion, and issues accessing counselling services.

One topic of conversation raised to me involved receiving medication from pharmacies. One member of the group told me that they were forced to move to another pharmacy to pick up medication without their knowledge, which was quite unexpected for them.

In today’s ‘Our Impact’ report, Louise visited the Knit & Natter Group at Mr Fitzpatrick’s in Rawtenstall.

We talked to 9 people about their knowledge of Healthwatch’s work and discussed our current projects – Disability Voices and Women’s Health.

At this event, the main issues that people raised were surrounding dementia and caring for family members who unfortunately have this disease.
