Your invite to our health and wellbeing event!
We are running our own Health and Wellbeing event and you’re invited!
Thursday 31st August 11:30am-4pm – Galloway Hall, Preston.
There will be a range of organisations, including ourselves, in attendance who will be on hand to offer information, support and advice. Free health checks will be on offer too!
This is a fantastic opportunity to find out what support is available to you in Lancashire regarding health and social care. Support on offer will range from mental health to Alzheimer’s. There is something for everyone.
You will be able to speak to the following organisations who are all keen to offer their support and information:
Lancashire carer’s service: Offering information, advice and support to carers over the age of 18.
Choose Health: Delivering high quality healthcare services to communities in Lancashire and beyond. Offering free health checks!
Breast Screening, North Lancashire and South Cumbria: Provides high quality breast screening services to all eligible women as well as advice and information.
Quit squad: An NHS stop smoking service.
Stroke association: Offering support to those affected by stroke, including their loved ones.
Samaritans: A registered charity offering 24/7 emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide.
Preston North End community and Education Trust: Improving health and wellbeing through fitness, community engagement and education.
Age UK Lancashire: Supporting older adults through a range of services
Wellbeing and mental health helpline: A wellbeing helpline and texting service for emotional support in relation to wellbeing and mental health.
Lancashire Mind: Mental health charity offering support and information.
Galloways society of the blind: Charity offering support to people with sight loss.
Alzheimer’s society: Providing support, advice and information to those living with or affected by dementia.
Citizen’s Advice Preston: provides advice to people in Preston and the surrounding area on Benefits, Debt, energy issues, housing, immigration, consumer problems and other aspects of law.
Children and family wellbeing service: Supporting Families is a programme of targeted intervention for families with multiple problems, including crime, anti-social behaviour, truancy, unemployment, mental health problems and domestic abuse
Talkin’ tables: Facilitating inclusive spaces to allow people to meet and connect with others in their community.
And of course we will be there! As always, on hand to listen and record your experiences and signpost you to relevant support.
