How Does Healthwatch Use Your Feedback
At Healthwatch Lancashire, we pride ourselves on being a well-known presence in our local community and amplifying your voice in health and social care. But how does Healthwatch use your feedback?
How We Gather Your Feedback
Healthwatch Lancashire gathers feedback in a few ways, through our Feedback Centre on our website, through meeting people at events and pop-ups, and via calls or emails. This allows us to gather feedback from a variety of sources and allows as many individuals to contact us as possible.
Project Planning
Feedback from people like you allows us to plan our yearly work plan and complete in-depth research projects. We hear about topics or concerns that people have surrounding healthcare and this can prompt us to take a more structured approach and conduct a lengthy project gathering feedback and investigating the topic.
For example, through engagement events, we heard from many women that they were not being offered appropriate support for a range of health-related issues. This prompted us to conduct a 6-month initial research project using a survey surrounding women’s health where we engaged with women across Lancashire to discover their main concerns regarding their health.
This was followed by data analysis where we discovered the top three health-related concerns for women were: Menopause, Gynecological Health, and Mental Health. This prompted stage two of our project collecting personal stories from women about these topics.
Enter and Views
Many of our Enter and Views are conducted off the back of feedback from the public and we base these visits around a mixture of positive and negative feedback. No matter which way you provide feedback to us, we will take this and look at specific healthcare services that we can visit and talk to patients and staff in order to gather their views and understand how the service runs and where appropriate improvements can be made.
Campaign Planning
Throughout the year alongside our research projects, we like to focus on some issues that concern those across Lancashire through weeklong campaigns where we team up with other organisations and share valuable information and resources on our social media channels.
Off the back of feedback so far, we have a virtual wards campaign week, and a cancer campaign week planned for this year!
Board Meetings
At Healthwatch Lancashire, our team sits on various boards including the patient experience board where we share the feedback we have heard from our communities across Lancashire with key decision-makers and heads of health service-related boards.
This allows us to raise awareness of your concerns and ensure that your voice is heard.
“I want to share feedback in person”
Sure! Our engagement team put a lot of time into attending groups, hosting popups and just generally being out and about meeting their communities. Our events are posted on our website and updated monthly; you can also find them in our monthly newsletter!
Your feedback helps to inform and challenge the health and social care space in Lancashire and helps create a targeted work plan for our team at Healthwatch Lancashire.
If you want to provide feedback or share your experience, you can do so using a variety of methods.
