Help Improve Cancer Services: Parity Study

October 21, 2022

PARITY study: Lancaster University

Do you want to be involved in a conversation about improving cancer services? Lancaster University are undertaking a research study into cancer prehabilitation services and want to hear your views.

PARITY, a new project run by Lancaster University aims to improve prehabiliation before cancer surgery. Prehabilitation is the name given to efforts to improve health before a major healthcare event such as surgery, to improve patient outcomes. It often involves increasing exercise, changes to diet, and lifestyle changes.

The aim of the project is to improve prehabilitation services before cancer surgery. The project is looking to do this by understanding different people’s views and ideas for prehabilitation cancer services.

Lancaster University are inviting a group of people to join three workshops in Lancaster to share and discuss views and ideas for prehabilitation services. Together, the group will co-design a set of criteria for cancer services.

Participants can be patients, carers, friends, and family members interested in helping improve prehabilitation services. You do not have to have lived experience of cancer or have participated in research before to take part.
