Healthwatch Network Awards 2021: Shortlist

November 1, 2021

Every year Healthwatch England celebrates the hard work done by Healthwatch’s across the country through the ‘Healthwatch Network Awards’. Awards are presented to Healthwatch’s who have surpassed expectations and done impactful work to make sure health and social care services meet the needs of their local population. As so much good work is done by every Healthwatch, to even be shortlisted for one of these awards is a huge honour.

This year the 5 Healthwatch Network Award categories were:

  • Celebrating our volunteer team
  • Tackling inequalities
  • Engagement
  • COVID-19 response
  • Working with our Integrated Care System

Healthwatch Lancashire has been shortlisted for two Healthwatch Network Awards this year. The first award HWL was shortlisted for was ‘tackling inequalities’. This is in recognition of the work that has been done with Black Caribbean men, from the Preston Windrush Health Group, to understand their experience of using NHS services and how their life experiences have affected their wellbeing.

Healthwatch Lancashire, alongside its fellow Healthwatch Together partners (Healthwatch Cumbria, Healthwatch Blackpool, and Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen), has been shortlisted for the ‘Working with your Integrated System’ Network Award 2021. Being shortlisted is in recognition and celebration of the effective and impactful work that has been done to become the go-to organisation for public engagement in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
