Calling all residents of Hornby – we’re bringing local services into your community!
Join us at our Health and Wellbeing event in partnership with Hornby Village Institute:
Wednesday 6 September 3pm-6pm at Hornby Village Institute, Lancaster.
There will be a range of support organisations on hand to find out what they do, have a chat and get some support and advice. The Healthwatch team will also be there and would love to hear about your experiences of your health and social care services, as well as providing advice and support.
Whether it’s advice around fire prevention and safety, talking to someone about Alzheimer’s or you would like to stop smoking, there will be someone to talk to. Bring along your kids too and have a chat with the Children and Family wellbeing service.
Organisations available on the day include:
Accord Wills – get some free advice around writing your will.
Age UK – help, information and advice for people over 50, a range of services from benefit advice to befriending services and learning technology
Age UK Veterans Outreach – support and advice for those over 50 who have served in the armed forces. Come and have a chat with Jaqui the Veterans Outreach Support Worker who’s a veteran herself
Alzheimer’s Society – support and advice for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their carers
British Liver Trust – transforming liver health through increased awareness, prevention, improved care and support
Children and Family Wellbeing Service – supporting vulnerable children young people and families, support family life and promote health & wellbeing
Citizens Advice North Lancashire – staffed by a team of professional advisers and trained volunteers they can offer confidential, free, impartial advice to anyone who needs it
East Integrated Care Community – health and care workers, voluntary organisations and wider partners who are working together to improve physical and mental health outcomes, promote wellbeing, reduce health inequalities and focus on wider determinants of health
Galloways – supporting people with sight loss
Just Company – bespoke services offering companionship for those in later life
Karma Hemplife – holistic therapies through the power of hemp and eastern style therapies
Lancashire Carers Service – information, advice and a wide range of specialist support services designed to help Carers continue in their caring role for as long as they choose and reduce the impact the caring role can have on their own health and wellbeing
Lancashire Fire and Rescue – get advice around fire prevention and safety, find out how to make your home safer
Lancaster District Community & Voluntary Solutions (LDCVS) – bringing people together and supporting voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector organisations
LSCFT Health Facilitation Team – a team of nurses and nurse associates who are specialised in facilitating health care for people with learning disabilities of all ages
North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service – have a chat and get advice around breast screening
North West Ambulance Services – come and find out all about their services, you’ll be surprised how much they do to get people to and from hospital
Quit Smoking Squad – face to face stop smoking support
Red Rose Recovery – recovery systems and creating opportunities for people affected by substance misuse, mental health and offending behaviours
Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) – providing local support to the farming community
St John’s Hospice – palliative care for the community of North Lancashire
Utility Warehouse – struggling with your energy bills? Come talk with Utility Warehouse and get some free advice
