Health Services in Lancashire over Easter

April 12, 2022

With Easter approaching Lancashire and South Cumbria Health and Care Partnership are encouraging people to plan early for ordering their repeat prescriptions. This is as GP surgeries with be closed over the Easter weekend, including the 15th and the 18th April.

In the case of urgent care needs, either calling 111 or visiting the 111 websites is available 24/7 and can signpost you to the best service for support. However, if there is a life-threatening situation, you should always call 999.

Over the Easter weekend, there will be a small number of pharmacies open. Pharmacists are also able to help you seek treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. As well as this, provide expert advice. To find out which pharmacies will be open during this period, click here.

Kath Gulson, executive chair of Community Pharmacy Lancashire, said:

“Making sure you have the right medicines could make all the difference. Taking daily medication is an important part of treatment for those with long-term health problems such as asthma and diabetes. People can be seriously ill if they run out of medicines and may need to be admitted to hospital, which can be avoided by ordering your prescription early.”

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, the 24/7 Crisis Line is available on 0800 953 0110.
