University of Lancashire Students Placement 2025

October 7, 2025

During the month of September, we hosted students from the University of Lancashire who were on their community placement. The aim of this placement is to demonstrate how Healthwatch works with local communities to hear people’s experiences and learn how the work we do helps steer service improvement.

We were joined by Raphael and Hussein from the University of Lancashire, who accompanied our team on several different engagements throughout the month. In this period, they have attended the Rainbow Café in Morecambe, the Veterans in Communities Coffee Morning in Clitheroe to support our Ageing Well without families project, which you can read more about on our current projects webpage.

During their time with us, they have also helped us with research for future pieces of work by looking at current research linked to young people and social media.

Raphael and Hussein commented that the placement had been really beneficial for them as part of their course development, as it had given them opportunities to hear from a wide range of people in their time with us. They gathered some fantastic stories for their end-of-placement assignment.

“We had a really good time with Healthwatch and it was good to hear lots of stories.”

We are always looking to hear more from the residents of Lancashire about their experiences. If you have a story you wish to share please get in contact with us using any of these methods
