Our Engagement: Carnforth Health and Wellbeing Event
On Tuesday, January 28th Healthwatch Lancashire organised and hosted a community health and wellbeing event in partnership with the Carnforth Integrated Care Community (ICC), which Senior Engagement Officer Sue organised and attended.
Located in Carnforth Civic Hall, we had over twenty amazing local charities, community, and NHS services join us in helping the local community gain advice about their health and social care services.
This included veteran support, mental health support, Alzheimer’s Society, community policing, Children and young people services, benefits and wills and the local swimming pool – and more!
Carnforth Pharmacy were also present carrying out health checks and offering advice about prescriptions and medications.
A great deal of organisational networking was seen at the event which ensures that members of the local community are able to fully access services with a ‘wrap-a-round’ approach where services are working in harmony.
Healthwatch Lancashire listened to feedback about local services including Ash Trees Surgery’s “Brilliant staff and service”. This will be fed back to the surgery as a positive experience.
Healthwatch Lancashire would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the event, both professionally and the local community, as well as Carnforth Town Council for allowing us to take over the Civic Hall for an afternoon.
