Healthwatch turns 10 years old!

March 30, 2023

Healthwatch was established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf.

Healthwatch is now 10 years old. That is 10 years of you sharing your experiences, good and bad, to help drive change. With your help, Healthwatch has been able to help improve health and social care services for everyone.

In just one year, Healthwatch Lancashire has spoken to over 3800 people about local health and social care services. We have collected 59 in-depth case studies which we can present to decision-makers and NHS leaders. We have spoken to those who often struggle to get their voice heard, through 71 seldom heard groups. Through your feedback, we have been able to champion change and we have made 225 recommendations through 36 reports.

To all the professionals and groups we work with, your commitment to helping to improve health and social care for everyone has made all the difference.

Come and celebrate with us!

On 5th April we will be holding a celebratory pop-up event in Preston town centre on the Flag Market 10am-3pm. If you can make it we would love to see you!

Let’s continue to champion change and shape health and social care together. Together we’re making health and social care better.
