support for a carer

February 2, 2023
I needed some support with my other half and rang the surgery to get some advice on what to do to look after her and i was referred to the memory clinic. I was referred back to the gp from the memory clinic who told me that i needed a gp. The surgery did what they could to help but I think they werent sure how to help me.

Without looking into the medical records , it is very difficult to respond accordingly. It is common for patients to be referred to the memory clinic and then back to the surgery once they have had an assessment. The assessment is required so that the GP can make an informed decision on care.

Car parking is bad. I have to pay for it. They put cameras up once and I didn't know I had to pay and was charged. I can get same day appointments though

I have diabetes type 2 and I go every 6 months for blood sugar checks, kidney screening, height and weight and also what additional things I could do to help myself. Results are flagged with the retinal screening team. I can always make an appointment and see a doctor on the same day, usually the preferred doctor. It's an extremely good surgery and busy - I don't know how they run it so well. The notice boards are changed regularly.
