Unhelpful

March 12, 2024
My 18 month old daughter is having issues with her ears, one or both have/are discharging fluid.

Can't ring up, have to fill in a form online, which then takes another day for them to ring to make an appointment, all while daughter is in discomfort.

When you go to see a GP, its obvious they havent read any notes, as you have to explain everything again and again.

One particular doctor is adamant theres nothing wrong, wont prescribe anything and is unhelpful when asked for advice.

We've asked to be able to have access to daughters nhs record on the nhs app, been told they dont allow it. So we cant see what appointments or notes or anything

I am not able to make appointments

November 8, 2023
WE moved to the practice and we have had a lot of issues in making appointments and arranging tests. We have not received any information about the condition of my partner and it has been very frustrating trying to make appointments on their behalf. There have also been issues with arranging routine tests which are required to be carried out to make sure that the conditions are being monitored. I contacted the practice to arrange a test to be told that it had already been carried out earlier in the month. This was not the case, it was a separate test but they did not accept that another was needed. They refused to speak to me even though we have made those arrangements. I was told that there was a step that we needed to take that "I should have known about." which I know was not explained to me previously when we first registered at the practice.

Long wait for appointments

August 8, 2023
There is always a really long wait for appointments and then it's always a different doctor. Sometimes I have to have a telephone appointment when I really want to see the doctor. I have found some of the staff quite rude and I feel like I'm being a nuisance. Doctors need to read peoples notes so we don't have to keep explaining what our problems are

Never see the same doctor twice

August 8, 2023
I need to see my GP regularly but I never see the same doctor twice and they never read my notes before I see them so I have to keep explaining my health problems. Communication is also poor.

Administration fees

Another group member commented about Coastal Medical Group in Morecambe. The
person was asked to pay £15 for a doctor’s letter to be signed off work and saw this as
an unnecessary charge.

Coastal Medical - Heysham

For some reason you have to wait 30mins every time before you are seen, but if you turn up 5 - 10 mins late for your appointment then you will be turned away and will not be able to see the GP, that is not fair.

Would prefer to see family doctor

Went with my wife who wasn't well, not seen by family GP but another one. OK with that but seeing family doctor would help.

To see any doctor - no issues
To see a certain doctor you have to wait 3 weeks.

My son is autistic and will only see one doctor. This is an issue sometimes as he might not be available for 7 days. The doctor should have some free slots for emergencies.
