Views of service users at Westgate Medical Practice in Morecambe published
Healthwatch Lancashire has published a ‘Patient Engagement Day’ report, which captures the experiences of service users at Westgate Medical Practice in Morecambe.
Following Healthwatch Lancashire’s visit to Westgate Medical Practice, the practice management team has responded to a report with a number of actions to improve the experiences of their patients.
On the 14th and 26th July 2016, four Healthwatch Lancashire representatives gathered survey responses from 30 patients to obtain the views of people using the service and to observe the environment.
The results of the report show that the majority of patients did not have any difficulties booking same day or urgent appointments and found booking them excellent, as well as being happy with the opening times of the surgery.
Healthwatch Lancashire’s findings did highlight a number of areas for concern such as online booking, appointment reminders and the majority of patients not knowing about the Patient Participation Group.
The report includes a list of actions provided by Westgate Medical Practice in relation to how they will improve service users’ experiences following the activity.
