Royal date for Healthwatch Lancashire Chief Executive

Healthwatch Lancashire’s Chief Executive, Gill Brown, is attending the Hft Conference on Personalised Technology today in Liverpool where she will be meeting their patron, HRH The Princess Royal.

The conference will include a series of short presentations by a number of key speakers; including Hazel Watson, Head of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities for the NHS. The Princess will also be invited to give a speech on the benefits of personalised technology to the health and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities. 

Hft’s 2015 Personalised Technology conference will explore how technology is fundamental to improving the health and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities.

 

Key themes which will be covered at the conference are: 

Why learning disability is a priority audience in the NHS’s Five Year Forward strategy, led by Hazel Watson, Head of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, NHS England 

Why we need an integrated approach to health and social care and how this has been a success in Liverpool, led by Dave Horsfield, Liverpool CCG 

The importance of universal design and accessibility, led by Professor Klaus Miesenberger, from the University of Linz 

Launch of Lincus – a self-reporting application, designed to help people communicate how they are feeling – and e-MAR: Hft’s electronic medication administration system
