Patient Engagement Day Report published for Pendle Community Hospital
Healthwatch Lancashire has published a ‘Patient Engagement Day’ report, which captures the experiences of patients, relatives and carers at Pendle Community Hospital.
This follows on from Patient Engagement Days at Burnley General Hospital, Royal Blackburn Hospital, Accrington Victoria Community Hospital and Clitheroe Community Hospital.
15 Healthwatch Lancashire volunteers, supported by staff, took part in the five events in East Lancashire with 299 people taking the opportunity to share their views. The reports each include a response from East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, with actions taking place to improve their patients’ experience.
Sheralee Turner-Birchall, Chief Officer at Healthwatch Lancashire, said “Patient and relatives input into the way services run can be invaluable as they have an experience that staff can’t access. Sometimes seeing services from their point of view opens up real opportunities for improvement that may not have already been considered.”
“Healthwatch Lancashire would like to thank East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust for their responses to the reports and the actions put in place as a result of our findings.”
