Healthwatch Lancashire appoint new Chief Executive


Healthwatch Lancashire is proud to announce the appointment of their new CEO, Gill Brown.

Gill comes to the organisation from The Walton Centre, a specialist neuroscience NHS foundation trust located in Liverpool, where she was the Centre’s Director of Corporate and Research Governance.

Gill’s NHS career has spanned almost four decades and has included a diverse range of roles and responsibilities encompassing many facets of patient care. In November 2013, Gill received a national award for ‘Excellence in Governance’ in recognition of her innovative and proactive approach to corporate and research governance.

Gill said “I’m very much looking forward to starting my new role at Healthwatch Lancashire and continuing my career with a patient centred organisation”.

Gail Stanley, Chair of the Healthwatch Lancashire Board of Directors, said “We are thrilled to have appointed Gill. She brings a wealth of NHS experience to the role, and shares with Healthwatch Lancashire a deep commitment to improving health and social care services in the county, and ensuring that people’s voices are heard and can influence change.”

Healthwatch Lancashire is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in the county with the role to listen and the power to significantly influence change within the health and social care system.
