Meet Healthwatch Lancashire at the 3rd Annual Fylde Coast Health Mela

Healthwatch Lancashire will be exhibiting at the 3rd Annual Fylde Coast Health Mela this Saturday.

This is a chance for members of the public to meet the Healthwatch Lancashire team and share any experiences of health and social care in Lancashire. The day will also be an opportunity to take part in the new ‘Your Care and Getting There’ research campaign, which aims to gather views from members of the public on how they travel to primary health and care services in Lancashire.

The event will be opened by the chief guest Mr Adrian Leather, Chief Executive of Lancashire Sports. The theme for discussion at breakfast meeting will be: “The Role of Sports and Exercises to better Health & Wellbeing”.

Health Melas’ are free community fairs dedicated to health information and empowering the community to take control of their health and wellbeing. Visitors to the event can have a complete health checks including blood pressure, BMI, Blood sugar & cholesterol testing and will have the opportunity for personal & confidential health counseling. Also available will be advice for older people (Falls Prevention, Mobility, Nutrition and Pharmacy), practical demonstrations of healthy living for all as well as advise on Oral, Dental, Hearing and Eye checks. Visitors will be able to create their own smoothie on the smoothie bike and have opportunity to avail of a taster session of complementary medicine – Reiki.

The free event will have several health and wellbeing related stalls providing information on multiple health related issues.
