Healthwatch Lancashire seeks new board members

Healthwatch Lancashire wishes to extend its skills based Board and would welcome enquiries from individuals from Preston, Chorley, South Ribble, Fylde & Wyre interested in joining the organisation’s Board of Directors.

Healthwatch Lancashire, which is the public voice on health and social care, requires individuals with a strong commitment to improving local health and social care services. The role also requires the skills and relevant board level experience needed to set and ensure delivery of the organisation’s strategy.

Healthwatch Lancashire would especially welcome enquiries from applicants skilled in finance, community engagement and strategic development, or from applicants with experience and knowledge of the health and social care system in Lancashire.

The role is voluntary; with reasonable out of pocket expenses reimbursement paid by Healthwatch Lancashire.

Mike Wedgeworth MBE, Chair of Healthwatch Lancashire, commented, “There are huge changes going on in the National Health Service and in social care, and Healthwatch is a vital route to influencing those changes for the good of the people and communities of Lancashire.”

The Healthwatch Lancashire board of directors, led by Chair Mike Wedgeworth MBE, is responsible for the management and governance of the organisation and use their expertise to ensure that Healthwatch Lancashire is fulfilling its legal and statutory obligations.
