Guardian Angel Devices help people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia get home safely

Do you have a family member or loved one with Dementia or Alzheimer’s who may be at risk of wandering?

The Good Deeds Trust, otherwise known as Dementia Buddy, have come up with a range of Guardian Angel devices to make sure they get home safely.

The scheme was launched by the Atherton charity to provide a helping hand to sufferers and help ease the worries of family members and carers.

The Guardian Angel devices are wearable and come in the form of a wristband, badge, keyring or bag/zip tag. The devices are just £5.00 each and are sold nationwide.

If you do see anyone looking distressed, simply place your *smartphone over the device. The first name of the sufferer and the telephone number of their designated emergency contact will appear. This can be their carer, next of kin, or any other person who they trust.

*Make sure to switch on NFC on your smartphone.
