Good surgery

This surgery is very good with kids and getting appointments for kids. I think they are very over subscribed as a surgery but they always look after the children.

I am struggling to see my records

August 31, 2023
I have rung the Surgery to get access to my records so that they can be sent to other agencies. Whenever I ring up they tell me that I have to wait and that they will send the information to my email address. I don’t have an email address so I would like to know what they are sending my information to. I have written to them in the past I haven't heard anything since.

I don't feel like I am taken seriously.

August 15, 2023
I never feel like they take me seriously at Buckshaw Surgery. I am below the age of 18 and I feel like they never give me the full picture with information about my condition. They send me on plenty of tests but they don't always tell me fully what to expect or what the tests will entail. I feel like there is something that they aren't telling me.

Stitches To Be Taken Out After Operation On Face

July 24, 2023
I went straight to Buckshaw Village Surgery after having a Melanoma Legion taken out of my face on Monday 17th July at ISSA Medical Centre. This dermatologist advised me to book into the GP to have the 4 stitches taken out in a week.

Buckshaw had no availability on that day for a nurse appointment the next week. They advised me to ring on Monday 24th at 8.30am which I tried to do but as I'm working 4am - 12 each day I didn't have time to wait in the phone too long. I went over personally today (24th) after work and again they said there was no availability, this is district wide, not just their own surgery.

I'd like to know what I'm supposed to do here. I have facial stitches, next to my nose with no understanding of where to go to get them removed.

To call everyday at 8.30am until I gain an appointment is not something I can do. I'm very upset by this as I'll probably be forced to go to A&E where I'll have to wait hours and hold up the doctors on duty that are there to treat people's emergencies. It is a diabolical situation.

Very forward thinking practice the best I have ever experienced. Always introducing new features to make the patient and surgery experience exceptional.

Excellent service by the incumbent GP team

January 13, 2016
Always possible to get an urgent appointment, albeit not with the GP of choice. Telephone appointment could be hit and miss to see individual GP - booking process recently changed, improving the situation. Routine appointment, with GP of choice, can be up to 10 days. Late night and Saturday appointments have eased pressure on appointment system.
Blood letting (sorry, Phlebotomy) service could be expanded to save up to 90 minute waits at Hospital!
Current tendering process for the Practice contract could nullify all the above comments, and ratings, should a new/different management team and doctors be brought in!!!
