Patient Engagement

Our Patient Engagement Day project was established in 2015 to gather feedback from local people about services in order to understand people’s experiences on a particular day.

The focus of Healthwatch Lancashire’s Patient Engagement Days is to gather patients’ views on the accessibility of their GP surgery, the quality of care provided and the awareness of patient involvement via Patient Participation Groups. The Healthwatch Lancashire team speak with patients discreetly in the waiting room and record their feedback, with the information received aimed to be used to influence service improvement.

The team also collates observations of what is seen on the visits and compile a report reflecting these observations and the feedback gained. The report is sent to the practice manager of the surgery for validation of the facts and are encouraged to provide a response which  is included with the final version of the report.
